About Liberia

Liberia is a country in West Africa which was founded by former American slaves. It is one
of only three sovereign countries in the world that were founded by former slaves, the others being Haiti and Sierra Leone, established by Great Britain. The emigration of former slaves was funded and organized by the American Colonization Society (ACS). The mortality rate of these settlers was the highest in accurately recorded human history. Of the 4,571 emigrants who arrived in Liberia from 1820 to 1843, only 1,819 survived until 1843.

Liberia as a country was founded by African-Americans in the 1820s. These Americo-Liberians governed the country until 1979, when they were overthrown in a coup in 1980. Liberia was governed by a military dictatorship until 1990, and then suffered two decades civil wars. In 2003, the women of Liberia helped bring an end to the Second Civil War, and in 2005, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was elected President of Liberia. In 2017, George Weah, a former world best soccer player was elected president. Since then Liberia as a country continues to retrograde with corruption and bad governance; low class families can no longer afford to survive.

About 75 percent (75%) of the country’s population is uneducated, 85% unemployed, 40% of the kids have to sell for survival and Armed robbery is on the increase in Liberia. With Education, we believe that people will be able to make wise decisions, good choices and create a better living environment.

Here in America, there are also victims of the civil conflict in Liberia, Vulnerable single parents, drugs affected youths and young adults, orphans as a result of the Ebola epidemic in Liberia, and etc. that need to be empowered academically.

You can help us educate a Liberian or a victim of society ills. Help restore hope to the hopeless and life to the destitutes by Donating cash, giving scholarships, Computers/ Laptops, Sewing machines and etc.

Your donations would help us establish technical skills centers for not only Liberians in Africa, America or in other countries but other nationalities that are affected by society ills; enroll our targets into high schools, vocational centers, technical colleges, Universities.
